1500 WORDS & Poster!!

I think this is the first time, we all need to write an essay about 1500 words.... It is a tough thing for me cause I m not very good in writing and every member at least need to write about 300 words. Then we divide our part between our group member. Then the part that i need to do is compile the work of the other 4 member and write out the conclusion. It is indeed very difficult for me cause I need to clear about all the thing that write by my group member and relate it to construction management and our RUS 101 studio.... It take me a few day to complete this work!!

And through this assignment, it make me more clear about what is spiritual development. And it does not need to relate to religion. The person who has spiritual development won't lost in his/her life and they will live their life with objective and meaning!

Abstract

On 8th of October, we are giving three assignment together but pass up on different day. These assignment is all inter-related, is about soul shift.And as a student of construction management, we need to discuss about spiritual development, choice and action. First, we all are very blur and worry about this assignment cause we all not very understand about what is spiritual development. Thus, we decided to meet with our studio master at 3pm in the afternoon of that day. The studio master just tell us to write whatever thing that you feel related with the spiritual development, your idea about the thing.

Our group member decided to write about what is spiritual development? the benefit of spiritual development and about choice and action.

BIG

Today morning 9am, there is a talk about BIG and How APEX take a Leap to 2012, by our studio lecturer, 1b. The audience for this talk consist of RUS101 student and lecturer from other school. After the talk and read the BIG website, only I know that bamboo is really a great plant that can have so many function and is sustainable. Thus, it is really a good material that should be use by human in the future!

After 1b has present the talk, there is a discussion session for the audience to ask question. The questions ask are as below:

1)What is the challenges that is expected to face or will be facing?

• we do not have any sponsor, and yet that not a challenge to stop us from this
• difficult to harvest because the old clump is inside the cluster and new shoot will surrounding them

2) How much bamboo do we have? Is that enough for all of us?

• jungle in Malaysia may be have 10% is bamboo area
• the bamboo we used, was not preserved unlike UNIMAS, they preserved the bamboo by using palm oil.

therefore we do not know how long is the lifespan of bamboo. hard to predict is that enough for all of us.

we just do what we can~

3)How long does it take to grow?

• it's a fast growing plants, but what the exactly period we need to find it out

4)How will this project contribute to APEX?

• we cant take anyone as a model, because we will always behind the model.
• if we wan to lead ahead of the other, we need to create new thing that other people didn't do

5) What if the natural disaster happen in 2012 is not a flood?

• south africa build building with bamboo to prevent earthquake
• there are many possibility, flood is just one of it. We all need help from other, we does not expect it to happen, thanks god, if it does not happen
• Our curriculum is road learning

6) Can bamboo be the source of energy?

• yes, many thing can become the source of energy, maybe through geothermal
• time has change, do what we have to do
• study it how it to be done

7) How long was the bamboo life span?

• we do need research, because we still have no idea
• different climates different life span
• depend on preserved or not preserved

8) Bamboo is widely used in construction. How do bamboo play its parts in medicine?

• some professional said epilepsy can be cure by using bamboo

After this session, 1b really impress me due to the knowledge that he has. He can answer whatever question that people ask... And I feel happy with myself because I can participate in this BIG project to contribute for other people.
