Looking Backward..!

This time we need to write about what we had done before since the 1st day in class.

12th JULY (Monday):

This is the 1st lecture for all 1st year student, the lecturer share about what is APEX? APEX is stand for Accelerated Program for Excellent. Next we learnt about what is Production? In a production it need : INTENTION>ACT>PRODUCT>PEOPLE>RULE>PLACE

There are 3 important element in order to produce a product, we call it 3P, that are PEOPLE,PRINCIPLE and PLACE.

The assignment for that day is to create a virtual home that is this blog and write down what we heard in the studio for that day.

16th JULY (Friday)

The lecture for that day is about knowing yourself. The lecturer share with us a story about a rich boy and a poor boy on how they think and react before they enter and after they enter USM. The lesson that i get from this story is to know very clearly why I want in USM? so that student can be firm no matter facing with any problem.

The assignment that we need to do is ME, MY THOUGHT AND I.

19 JULY (Monday)

The lecturer is about dot, line and shape. The assignment given to us is use dot and line to draw out the building of HBP.

For the afternoon class, we need to go to the Rumpun Buluh Research Village of USM to find bamboo cluster. Before that, we need to sketch 15 sketches in 15min. To me, this is really crazy, and i cant manage to finish some sketches.

The assignment need to complish is as below.

23 JULY (Friday)

That day we had given an assignment to do a bamboo sound tool. It sound very interesting for me because i m a musician and i thinking what the relation between music and construction... at the end no answer. this is just do for fun. And we need to complete it with our senior and group member during the GETHO orientation camp.

On that day also, I learnt about a application that can arrange a bunch of words into various pattern, it is WORDLE. So, lecturer wan us to describe a basket by using any word and as much as you can.

26 JULY (Monday)

On that day, the lecturer share about 7 characteristic of high effective people, in short 7 habits. They are be proactive, begin with end in mind, put first thing first, think win-win, seek first thing to understand and to be understand, synergize and sharpen the saw. I feel that it is very useful to us if we want to be a successful people.

Next, we learn about contour. Contour is the layer overlapping each other and getting thicker and thicker. To make us more understand, the assignment that given to us is do our own mask.

30th JULY (Friday)

That day, we learn about visible and invisible. Visible is something we can see like the product we had done. Invisible is like our character and our mind set, it is something we cant see but we can feel it.

2nd AUGUST (Monday)

This lecture taught me about human dimension. during the class we need to measure our own body using jengkal and draw it on a A3 paper. Besides, we need to draw cube with different characteristic.
The assignment that given to us is to draw a bamboo casket for our own and with 6 friend carry you.

6th AUGUST (Friday)

In this lecture, the lecturer share with us about vision and rule. In my opinion, each person have their own vision. The matter is do they follow the rule when they wan achieve their vision? A man who is successful will follow the rule in order to achieve his/her vision. Rules leads to success individually or collaboratively but sometimes we also need to follow the right rule!

The assignment that we need to do is sketch and colour our own black box. This is the first time I use water colour, it is fun but very expensive. Hope that I can use it again!

9th AUGUST (Monday)

The lecture is about addition and subtraction. We need to add or subtract our thing according to our situation. The assignment that we need to do is balloon bamboo black box! First time me and my friend thought that we need to use real bamboo to do the box, so we go and cut bamboo and do alot of work for 2, 3 night and the last night until 5 something to produce it! however because it is too heavy and difficult to carry, we need to do it again.....

So, for the 2nd time we just use bamboo satay stick and big black plastic bag to do the box.

13th AUGUST (Friday)

This lecture is about unity oneness. The assignment that given to us is to is to propose a plan for the Merdeka countdown at Penang Times Squre.

16th AUGUST (Monday)

This lecture is about formal structure, the lecturer show us some plan of the city. When can we produce a good product like them? They are so awesome.

20th AUGUST (Friday)

In this lecture, we learnt about space and world. Space is an unused or unfilled gap or area between two or more object and world are everything that exists the universe or the earth with all its countries and people.

Next, we are giving an assignment to produce a 3-min merdeka theatherette with a group of 10. We name our group as STRICKER! The theatherette that we perform talk about respect each races and their culture in order for a sustainable tomorrow.

23 AUGUST (Monday)

From nothing to something, this lecture is a interesting lecture, the lecturer show us the work he did last time when he study in HBP. He also share with us that human is actually nothing but at the same time we are still something because we are made by million and billion of atom.

30 AUGUST(Monday)

The lecturer share with us about freedom. For me freedom is not just let go our burden or a life with no rule. True freedom is we can handle every problem no matter how many and how heavy the problem is. Like that we wont feel suffer cause we can solve our problem! For me, this kind of feeling is true freedom and happiness..

Next we learnt about 1-point perspective and we need to sketch a 1-point perspective sketches in 15min during the class.

At night, we go to Penang Times Squre for merdeka countdown! We need to bring our BST and mask as my group need to use BST to support the show! I very much during that night and get closure to my friends!

3rd SEPTEMBER (Friday)

That day our class canccel but we are given an assignment to do that is design IBU of the survival kit with the invention of USM.

Actually in the past 3 month in USM, i have learn alot in HBP. I am really happy and thankful to be here and not other place! At first, when lecturer give us assignment, I will be very scare and pressure because my drawing skill is really bad and some of our assignment need to draw and sketch, I dont have confident that i can handle it. It really tough for me.. However, I am lucky to meet my friend here who always help me when I having problem. After this 3 month I had get use to HBP life that full with assignment and start enjoy my uni life with friends. And now I try to train myself to be a effective people, finish my assignment as soon as possible...
